It’s the cookbook you’ve been waiting for and the launch party of the year, hosted by Chef Michael Smith! A labour of love and passion, the Canada’s Food Island cookbook will be hot off the presses in September, just in time to mark the kick-off of the 2022 PEI Fall Flavours Festival presented by Sobeys. Set against the backdrop of the gorgeous Carriage House in New London, this intimate soiree will begin with a welcome cocktail. You’ll also be given your very own copy of the Canada’s Food Island cookbook in hardcover. Featuring nearly 100 inspired seasonal recipes alongside homegrown stories and beautiful photographs of the Island, it’s bound to become a staple in your kitchen and a cherished reminder of PEI’s unique food culture. 

Next, it’s time to savour some of the cookbook’s most talked-about recipes at outdoor action stations. You can look forward to enjoying all the best PEI ingredients as you leisurely roam from one station to the next, including dishes with oysters, mussels, lobster, and Island beef, as well as a one-of-a-kind PEI Potato Charcuterie Board! 

Catch up with Chef Michael Smith and get your new cookbook signed during the meet and greet. And connect with the folks that brought this incredible cookbook from the vision board to reality as you soak up the Island’s relaxed North Shore vibes. 

A portion of ticket sales for the cookbook launch will go to PEI Food Banks, and all royalties from cookbook sales will also be donated to PEI Food Banks.
