Gateway Village Food Bike

At Gateway Village Food Bike, participants will experience the area’s finest food and beverage providers, enjoy local entertainers, and explore the beautiful PEI countryside while cycling the Confederation Trail from Borden-Carleton to Emerald Junction, Round Trip (~36 km)! The Gateway Village Food Bike takes place rain or shine,and is well-suited for all intermediate (and above) bicyclists! E-Bikes are welcome.

1. Noble (0.7%): Hopped with simcoe and columbus, Noble is ultra-light without compromising flavour. This 0.7% Pale ale is dry and refreshing with notes of melon and field berries on the front, followed by a lasting dose of citrus on the finish.

2. Fixed Link (4.7%): Made with PEI Malt and maritime grown hops, Fixed Link in an effervescent German-inspired pilsner that is clean, bright, bodied with a flavour. Light bodied with a snappy bitterness our pilsner can be paired with a wide array of foods, from strong cheese to spicy cuisine.

The Details

8:30 a.m. – Registration & Breakfast

9:00 a.m. – Bike starts

Midway point – Comfort station, snack, and entertainment.

12:00 p.m. until approx. 1:00 p.m. – Bike ends, lunch, and entertainment.

After breakfast participants will enjoy a flat terrain bike along a branch of the Confederation Trail starting at the Lone Oak Taproom in Borden-Carleton. Follow Abegweit Boulevard towards Borden Avenue. Take a left and be careful as you cross the TCH where you will pick up the Confederation Trail. Your northeast bike run towards Emerald Junction takes you through typical PEI farmland. Your turn around point will be at the Boxcar Pub & Grill near the historic Emerald Train Station, where you will enjoy local entertainment and recharge with snacks. Return along the Confederation Trail to Borden-Carleton where you will be treated to entertainment and lunch provided by some of the area’s finest food and beverage providers.
